Basic Job Description

As a Senior Wireless System Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • User Terminal (UT) formal requirement management
  • Phase array architectures documents hardware, firmware/software architecture trade-offs,
  • Satcom link budget analysis
  • System and Module test and validation test plans of various UT configurations

You will be working under the Principal System Engineer in a collaborative environment with a multi-disciplinary team, vendors and customers supporting development and productization of various UT products.

Responsibilities
  • Define and organize User Terminal system formal requirements and specifications using industry standard requirement management tools and common tracking methodologies
  • Analysis and simulations of architectural and design tradeoffs of various UT configurations in support of tradeoff decisions
  • Collaborate with customer, business owners and development teams to develop requirements from top-level to sub-assembly, coordinate creation of coverage and test plans and manage the requirements life cycle through development, test, and compliance phases
  • Support in-field test and validation of various User Terminal systems
  • Expect up to 20% of travel depending on the phases of the projects
Qualifications
  • BS degree in System Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years in SW/HW development environment with at least 2 years in architectural/system role
  • 2+ years of experience with RF, digital communication, and communication theory
  • 2+ years of experience with formal requirement tools and methodologies (Jama, Jira, Doors etc.)
  • 2+ years of programming using Matlab/Python and C/C++
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Master/PhD degree in System Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in development for telecommunication and/or satellite communication systems
  • Satellite communication theory
  • Phased array designs and implementations
  • Satellite over-the-air Communication testing and field-trials
  • System integration and debugging of wireless systems from RF front-end to baseband
